| Time: 12:00pm. Admission: free. Age restrictions: All ages. Te Ra o Kupe Festival is an annual event in its 7th year and is the only festival that is celebrated in the eastern suburbs. The festival is about bringing the community together and celebrating the eponymous ancestor Kupe, who first visited the shores of Te Whanganui-a-Tara. The day starts with a formal opening with the Mayor and some of her counselors. Wellington Batucada will be doing a 30-minute stage performance at midday. | ||

| Time: 6:30pm. Age restrictions: All ages. Address: Solway Showgrounds, Masterton. A magical evening for the whole family, the Trust House Night Glow is the Balloons Over Wairarapa Festival highlight. Tethered Balloons light up the night sky in a dazzling display set to music. Bring the whole family and a picnic. Food and drinks will be available to purchase. Gates open 6.00pm. Wellington Batucada will be performing between 6.30 and 8.30pm. | ||
